MetaTrader runs on Windows, so a forex VPS is a Windows Server with RDP, sized at about 1 GB per running terminal on top of the 2 GB Windows itself uses, so 4 GB is the practical floor. Location matters more than specs: host in the same metro as your broker's server (New York, London or Tokyo) to cut slippage.
