How we rank

Where the numbers come from

Plans, prices, locations and features come from each provider's own website and documentation, checked on October 14, 2026. Trustpilot scores were read the same day. Where a provider shows a first-term discount, we use the renewal price; where it prices in euros, we convert at the rate stated on the profile.

The score

Each provider gets points out of 100:

  • Entry price: up to 22
  • Price per GB of RAM: up to 22
  • Locations: up to 20
  • Included features: up to 16
  • Trustpilot reputation, weighted by review count: up to 14
  • Published SLA, refund policy and prices: up to 6

Price, value and locations are scored relative to the other providers on the same page, so a list for one country is judged against that country's competitors. Use-case and feature lists add points for the capabilities that matter there.

Plan-based lists

Budget, size and use-case pages pick a specific plan for every provider (the biggest plan under a price, the cheapest plan of a size, the smallest plan that meets a workload's minimum) rather than the entry plan.

Editor's ordering

The order of the first entries on a list can reflect editorial judgement as well as the score. The data shown for every provider is the same wherever it appears.

What is not measured

We do not benchmark CPUs or networks. Support quality is reflected only through review scores. Latency figures are estimates from great-circle distance, not measurements.
